Tobacco Warehouse – Grade II Listed Conversion

Grade II Listed Conversion at Stanley Dock

We were proud to play a key role in one of Liverpool’s most ambitious and iconic regeneration projects. The transformation of the Tobacco Warehouse at Stanley Dock. This Grade II listed building – once the largest brick warehouse in the world – was meticulously restored and thoughtfully converted into a striking new residential and commercial development.

Originally constructed over 120 years ago, the Tobacco Warehouse served as a vital cog in Liverpool’s dock infrastructure. The warehouse stored vast quantities of tobacco shipped in from across the globe. Today, this monumental structure has been converted into 538 luxury duplex apartments and over 100,000 square feet of commercial space. In doing so, it has breathed new life into the city’s dockside while preserving the rich industrial heritage that defines Liverpool’s architectural character.

As part of this redevelopment, our team worked closely with the developers to provide high-quality painting and decorating services. These services were designed to complement and enhance the building’s unique features while remaining sensitive to its original architectural integrity. Each apartment offers a distinctive New York-style loft living experience. With exposed brick walls, cast iron columns, concrete ceiling beams, and soaring ceiling heights – blending historic charm with modern luxury.

Delivering Excellence Within a Historic Framework

Furthermore, our work extended across living areas, communal spaces, and the private residents’ lounge. All were executed with an exceptional level of care and attention to detail. Throughout the project, we maintained a steadfast commitment to quality, navigating the challenges of working within a listed structure with professionalism and pride.

Located next to the Titanic Hotel, just north of Liverpool City Centre, the Tobacco Warehouse is far more than a standard development. Instead, it serves as an example of how expert craftsmanship and restoration can breathe new life into a historic landmark. As a result, this ambitious project not only preserves the building’s rich heritage but also repurposes it for modern living. It ensures the Tobacco Warehouse will remain a meaningful part of Liverpool’s future, just as it was a vital part of its past.
